Message from the A/Head of Aboriginal Affairs

5-May-2020

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Don Harwin resigned on Friday 10 April 2020 and his portfolio now comes under the responsibility of the NSW Premier, Gladys Berejiklian.

Aboriginal Affairs NSW continues to do the critical work we have always done, including working with and supporting Aboriginal communities to create better futures, which is especially important during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

We have all gone through some difficult times so far in 2020, with rapid changes and major challenges including drought, bushfires and now COVID-19. Despite all of these challenges, I am immensely proud of the way that our staff and our Aboriginal communities continue to respond in these uncertain times.

Lastly, I wish to thank Minister Harwin for his consistent support and strong advocacy for our First Nations within and across the NSW Government, and his strong desire to work collaboratively with Aboriginal leaders to achieve outcomes.

We will let you know of any updates to our operation through our regional staff, website, Facebook and LinkedIn social media pages.

Stay well

Lil Gordon
A/Head of Aboriginal Affairs
