The NSW Labor Government is delivering on its election commitment to begin consultation about a treaty process with applications open for three commissioners to undertake this work.
The NSW Government is committed to a 12-month consultation process with Aboriginal communities on their aspirations for a Treaty framework or other formal agreement making process, to be led by three dedicated Commissioners.
Aboriginal businesses are being invited to a special Aboriginal Business Roundtable event in Wagga Wagga on Tuesday 23 April 2024 from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.

The National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair will return to Sydney across two days in 2018, with the event set to kick off celebrations ahead of this year’s NAIDOC Week.
Presented by Blak Markets, a social enterprise arm of First Hand Solutions, the National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair offers remote Indigenous art centres and artists the opportunity to promote and sell their work in Sydney.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Sarah Mitchell said the Art Fair provides NSW with the chance to kick off NAIDOC Week celebrations early.
“The National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair provides a unique opportunity to showcase Aboriginal art and culture to Sydneysiders as well as the thousands of tourists that visit,” Ms Mitchell said.
“With 10,000 visitors attending the inaugural one-day event last year, this year’s Art Fair will provide an opportunity for thousands more to experience Aboriginal art and help reinforce NSW’s reputation as a State with a strong, vibrant and diverse indigenous culture.”
Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said the NSW Aboriginal tourism sector has never been stronger.
“NSW has cemented its position as the most popular State for international visitors to experience Aboriginal tourism. With such cultural diversity on offer, NSW can offer visitors some of the most accessible and authentic experiences in the nation,” Mr Marshall said.
“We’ll continue to support this thriving industry through our Aboriginal Tourism Action Plan which maps out the growth strategies to deliver economic and social benefits for Aboriginal people, both as operators and employees, and ensure the sector continues to flourish.”
The National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair will be held on 30 June and 1 July, 2018 at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
