Land Rights

The Aboriginal Land Rights Act, 1983 (ALRA) provides land rights for Aboriginal people in NSW.

The principle of self-determination underpins the ALRA. Land is vested in representative land councils that work to deliver tangible economic, social and cultural benefits to Aboriginal communities in NSW.

This section of our site is where you can learn more about our work on land based reforms.
