The Family Records Service is continuing to accept and process requests for access to personal and family information from the archives of the Aboriginal Welfare Board, the Aboriginal Protection Board and the Chief Secretary.

In response to COVID-19 we have made some changes to the way we work to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our team and our communities. We are confident we can deliver the same service as usual with our alternative working arrangements with minimal impact to our clients.

  • Response times: It may take longer for us to respond to your enquiries, register applications, and print and send our responses and compiled records to you. Your patience is appreciate during this time.
  • Communication:

Please do not hesitate to get in contact with us if you need any assistance with your application or updates on the progress of your application.
